If you can't beat them...

If you go down in the woods today ..........

Well yes I went down up to the woods forest this afternoon. Today was the first day since the op that I have been allowed to drive. So by way of celebration I took myself up to Greystoke Forest for a short walk. This was one of my regular haunts before walking became too painful/difficult.

I proved to myself I am as fit as my friend was before he gave up smoking in favour of "vaping". Soon after you start into the forest there is a hill which for R was a "one stop hill" this meant he had to stop and catch his breath once on the way up. Within a month of starting "vaping" it became a non stop hill. Well for me it is still a one stop hill. Not because I need to catch my breath but because "Bernard" (those who don't know who Bernard is look at my journal for the 8th Feb) was saying "hold on this comes under the heading of cruel and unusual punishment".

I completed 1.5 miles but "Bernard" was complaining about muscles, which I had forgotten I had, having to work.

Incidentally if you want to get a big surprise next Monday is the day to go to the woods forest! M-Sport (Malcolm Wilson) are testing rally cars so the peace and tranquillity will be shattered by the snarl of exhausts
