Some Purty Parakeets

When I posted these last year, I assumed they were parrots. But...n-o-o-o-o-o...the Blip bird queen...Lizzie...avilover thankfully commented back to me that they are black-hooded parakeets. (She REALLY knows her birds.)

N-O-W...if she can just give me her opinion as to the relationship here. I watched them for hours, and STILL couldn't figure it out. I kept thinking the 2 on the left were Mom and Dad...with maybe Junior on the right, and Sis out of the picture. But...then there was a lot of preening..."leaning" into each other...and some more amorous moves. Made me appreciate baseball players with their names and numbers. (Hard to tell who's who without a scorebook.)

I watched them with one complaint. WOULD IT KILL THEM TO LEAVE THE MAN-MADE TELEPHONE WIRE, AND LAND ON A DEAD PALM TREE? WOULD IT? WOULD IT?

Such a pretty parrot parakeet. Thanks again Lizzie.

P.S. Speaking of dead palm trees, check out my FLICKR PAGE for a woodpecker checking out the cavities, and many more pictures of the parakeets.
