Spring Fast Approaching
There are plenty of wildlife signs that spring is approaching, but one of my favourites is the return of the Gannets. Beautiful, graceful birds, and with an extra day off (I will not worry about work tomorrow, I will not worry about work tomorrow, ad infinitum) we headed out to Fast Castle, hoping to catch sight of some. They paid us back with some lovely close views.
As if that wasn't enough there were a load of Shags, some Seals, a Rock Pipit, some Fulmars and Herring Gulls and Great-black Backeds, rafts of Razorbills, a lovely Red-throated Diver, and then a pair of (probably) Peregrines (my shots of them are a bit grainy and distant but I'm 99% certain).
