Daffodilly Time

Now that the crocuses are on the wain, it's truly daffodil time, with seemingly acres of the nodding flowers bordering roads in a deep carpet of yellow and blooming in swathes of colour against grey stone walls in parks and gardens.

On days when the spring sunshine is absent, a vista of golden yellow is hard to beat as a cheery substitute.

We have our own vases of spirit lifting daffodils in the house, gracing every available surface, but they don't last as long as the patch outside which I planted somewhat illegally at the wall of our shared gardens and which adds a splash of colour to the uniformity of a vast area of green grass.
The powers that be have not complained yet.
