White Heather
Winter heathers are floriferous enough for us to forget it’s winter. We pass white hummocks as well as pink and deep rose ones on the driveway as we drive by. Each flower is tiny, but the collective effect is a mound or swath of color. This is a close-up of Erica Carnea f. alba ‘Springwood White’ AGM. That’s quite a mouthful for a flower that is about a quarter inch long, no?
BTW: AGM means the Award of Garden Merit given by the Royal Horticultural Society.
