The Hermitage

Into town this morning - Roslyn went to the shops while I pushed the pram round by the river and watched the fire brigade practise rescuing someone from the river. Fireman no.1 swam out into the middle of the river and then let himself be carried downstream, then fireman no.2 (attached to a line) swam out, grabbed fireman no.1, then they were both pulled back to safety.

After lunch we took a run up to The Hermitage near Dunkeld and I jumped around on the slippery rocks, playing with my new toy, a Sigma 10-20mm lens. I had a brief relationship with an ultrawide lens in my pre-digital days but it didn't last due to my inability to compose a decent image with it. Since going digital I hadn't used anything wider than 20mm (~32mm equivalent) but decided to give it another go and see how I get on. Hopefully with a bit more experience under my belt I'll be able to make the most of the Sigma.
