Baptising the font

This font is a key feature in the current renewal and renovation work in our church. No longer will the clergy need to squeeze round the back of it to do a baptism next to the wall, nor will this beautiful object sit in the shadows. We have recycled the original marble plinth and moved it to a more prominent position where it catches the light quite dramatically. It was installed literally 30 mins before our 8am service, and I conducted my first baptism, and my second (twins) in the aboriginal glass font. It was a great occasion for all concerned. The stole is my ordination stole, used for celebrations and High Days.
