Back on Friday, I phoned the electricity company because the clock on our cheap electricity meter had failed. This meant no heating, although we do have a manual switch to get hot water.
We were told that the engineer would contact us within 2 working days.
When I phoned this morning, they had no record of any pending repair. I invoked the fact that a member of the household was in receipt of the Winter Heating Allowance (you should have seen Meles' face! ;D ) and they sent an electrician round, after I waited in all day... a strong and grumpy letter of complaint will be sent!
