Ladybird on rosemary
Another ladybird picture!
This ladybird did not need to shelter from rain, as today was dry and mainly sunny.
She was on a rosemary bush I was photographing because it was covered with flowers (this picture doesn't really show them in all their glory); I saw at least one other ladybird, and a small bumblebee was foraging amongst the flowers but I was unable to get it in a picture.
There is a legend that the rosemary used to have white flowers, but when Mary and Joseph were escaping to Egypt with baby Jesus, they rested beside a rosemary bush and Mary spread her blue cloak over it to make shade for the baby, and ever since the flowers on the rosemary have been blue!
