Tangled up in blue

The shop didn't have the toothpaste I usually buy and I picked up the wrong replacement; this one is blue! That was a bit of a shock but led me to reflect on blue.

The title is easy; I was listening to this last night whilst running an online tutorial. I think "Blood on the Tracks" is probably my favourite Dylan album. And then there's the blues. Musically we'd not have rock and roll without the the music of the Deep South and the name is thought to have come from feeling the blues or being down. the Queen has the Blues & Royals so that's probably a different thing.

The other blues that mean something to me are the team I first saw playing at Maine Road about 50 yerars ago. Taken by my father to watch the team he grew up supporting because he grew up in the shadow of the ground. They've moved a few miles and got money but they are still The Blues. In fact who one supported was part of where I grew up; it was a common question when meeting someone for the first time; "Blue or red?"

All this because of my new toothpaste.

I'm afraid it's the way my head works.
