Golden Corona

Narcissus bulbocodium nivalis, a perfect miniature daffodil. Tiny ray-like petals behind a golden corona ..... the posh name for trumpet when talking about narcissus. Not all corona's are trumpet shaped, I'll try and show a few more to illustrate the variation.

This one is the smallest narcissus that I grow from section bulbocodium, the so-called hoop petticoats, named because of the shape of the corona. The corona is about 1cm across. I raised this from seed sent to me by Rafael Diez Dominguez, a Spanish artist and botanist. See some of his botanical art here.
