Haze
13.9C and bright with some thin cloud. Slightly hazy. Light breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. We walked down the field with the bridle path and along to the level crossing and down to the beach.
When we got to the fishermen's huts I sat on the seat behind the dunes and Maeve stood beside me. We watched the dog walkers on the beach come and go.
I had the Nano playing Runrig. Mara. A Day in a Boat ...
Across the middle of the bay
A line of faces in the waiting hour
And I could see
The other world was here
Can you hear it now
We're just on the brink
Returning homewards
Together on
Alone
I looked at the rocks in the shallow blue water and my thoughts turned to another world. To the summer isles at the mouth of Loch Broom and the view by the lighthouse at Rhue, of Isle Martin and Ben Mor Coigach from Ardmair, and Tanera Mor from Badentarbat by Achiltibuie .
I remembered that when we were on Tanera Mor I was inspired by the song to take a rubbing of the words 'other world' and include them as collage in a painting I made on a long board of the world I saw from the island.
I thought that Maeve should come with us to see the summer isles.
After a while I got up and we started for home.
