View from the Bus

Most of today was spent on the bus traveling from San Cristóbal to Palenque. This photo was taken from the bus window, so you can see that it was quite a scenic drive! The state of Chiapas, Mexico, is much greener than Oaxaca, and the lowland areas are covered with jungle.
After our arrival in the town of Palenque, we took a taxi to an area close to the archaeological site, found a cabin in the jungle, and enjoyed the evening in the open-air restaurant/bar that served cold beer, excellent food, and live music!
