November's palette

The sun was shining this morning, but the prediction was that clouds would move in later in the day. They did! By afternoon the blue sky was completely covered by grey clouds and rain drops had begun to fall. I'm glad I took advantage of the early morning window for my walk in the park.

I blipped these lovely leaves at the top of the sledding hill near my stairwalking steps. Following the advice of Bryan Peterson in his book Understanding Exposure, I walked around the leaves and tried a number of different angles before I found one with a background I liked. He calls it "working your subject" or something like that. The green you see behind the leaves is the grass on the sledding hill, and the blue is a combination of sky and the distant river.

Must run now! I have an Alpha meeting at church. Then I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow with my granddaughter who is visiting from LA for a few days. I haven't seen her since Christmas...quite a long time in my opinion. Monday is coming to a close. I hope it has been a good one for you, Blippers.
