If you go out in the woods today,

.......
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely out in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home.

Carnival Tuesday today. Again started at 5:00am taking Angie to station as I needed car and planned to meet up with her near Munich in the afternoon to watch a parade. Today is the highlight of Carnival in Bavaria, further north Monday is the big day. Although not official, for most people it is a half day.

Day started great - amother chicken had been attacked in the early morning by a bird of prey, within the fenced area. I found her in the hen house badly wounded and tried to do my best to tend her but she didn't survive the night. My favourite Japanese chabo, an unusual blue/grey colour. We are now suffering daily attacks and losses.

Having spent some time on the chickens, everything got behind schedule and I abandoned the idea of going to Munich. Instead went to Ottobeuren shortly after midday for a walk with the dogs. Had a 5kg parcel of honey for my son in England but as I drove in to the totally empty of people or a single car in the High Street, guessed the post office would be closed too but was amazed on finding the supermarket in which it is was indeed open. So a good result. Later turned out the parcel didn't move though until Wednesday but was delivered on Friday morning in Worthing. Not bad and J's Saturday breakfast saved.

On our walk in the Bannwald, took this photo of one of the Quiz boards, this one of animal footprints. On Monday evening, Angie & I had popped in to MrB's to pick up some honey containers and he had some dried fox skins hanging in his "slaughter room". The skins were not his and had just been given to him by a friend. However Angie had especially looked at the paws as she wanted to see what they looked like. MrB said they were the same as a dogs. Angie has a thing about marten/weasel tracks which she often sees around the garden when we have snow. They cause countless damage to cars especially in towns and feared by many chicken keepers but we have never had a problem. Seems they only do damage if their territory is under threat.

So here the solution to the Blip. The names of the animals are shown when one lifts the "?" hinged boards. The tracks are (l. to r.) Deer, Fox, Hare, Badger, Mouse.

Angie had a good time in Olching with her sister Sigi and met her stepbrother Peter and partner Sandra, all of whom have been Bliped in the past.
