Making me proud

I had a busy day today. I went to my elementary school chorus club's annual spring concert. The chorus is made up of girls (no boys want to join I guess) from first to sixth grade. They sang really well! Apparently they were the best in the prefecture and Kyushu this year, and went on to a national competition. Some junior high school girls who used to be in the chorus came back for a "alumni chorus" and sang a few songs too, which was a nice surprise (they were really good!). I had to leave early though because next door at the sports center some of my students were competing in a karate competition. One boy, a third year junior high school student about to graduate, I have been teaching the whole time I've been here. I sat with his mom and we watched him get into the final match. He lost, but it was fun to watch. His little sister, who is one of my elementary school kids, won her final though!
