Work in the morning and then mid-afternoon we set out for Arrochar. The plan originally had been to meet up with our walking friends near Lochgoilhead on Sat morning and as it would have been a very long day we decided to stay the night in Arrochar.
However, Thursday there was a further landslip at Rest & Be Thankful and a forecast of heavy rain/blizzards and severe gales on the tops the walk did not seem a good idea. We had booked for the night and so went anyway and had a pleasant evening (whilst watching cars across the loch that were getting over the pass but in convoys).
It was mostly a beautiful day Friday (though very windy with some snow squalls) and the drive via Stirling and the south end of Loch Lomond had some stunning views in both directions and we actually found a place to stop to get this pic.
