STEAMING UP
At Queenstown on the west side of Tasmania is this restored railway running to Strahan on the coast. Originally used to carry Copper ore from the nearby Mount Lyell mine from the 1850's until the mine ceased operation during the 1990's.
Some rail enthusiasts have taken it upon themselves to restore the locomotive and carriages to their former glory.
This particular locomotive was manufactured in Scotland in 1898 and is one of only three left in Australia.
Tourists now frequent Queenstown especially to take a nostalgic trip back in time through the dense rainforest
Oh! to enjoy the smoke and steam once again.=-
