A Stone For The Whales
We have not attended many of the lunchtime concerts at Heriot-Watt recently but today was well worth waiting for. We were treated to two quartets who sang many pieces well-known to us, plus a few familiar songs in different arrangements.
Afterwards I wanted to blip this sculpture in the capricious sunshine. It is made of Kilkenny limestone, of a whale and calf leaping from the waves, created by Stanley Wilson, and placed there in 1994. A quick walk around the pond in a chill wind provided enough fresh air for the day.
