Sunset, Varanasi

And so up to date.

Went out on boat with Jens, who I met on train, for sunset on the Ganges. Quite lovely but today all of my photo's seem dull. This I quite like....

So, Varanasi? As I've said in some earlier blips its some place. Peopled by mad saddhus, all sorts of madness going on but in a rather serene manner...
Today ended up having a mid afternoon session on the ghats with Milo, also staying at the guest house..only one guitar between us so a song or a tune each and pass the guitar...pretty cool way yo spend the hot hours....

Othwise...beyond the Ghats, into the city, all of the madness returns..motorbikes and cows in small alleys, an odd timelessness...markets.

And the dark side is also here, heroin seems to be a problem. Had one teenager try to sell me it whilst obviously needing some himself, today a couple getting it together in one of the crumbling palaces...certainly you can't walk the ghats for long before being offered everything under the sun...as I've said an odd place...but I think that the next while here will he interesting....

The morning and evening light is a amazing and I can think of few more photogenic places...I really hope that the blips I take here do the place justice...
