Vogelmiere (Chickweed)

There are lots more flowers that have appeared. No doubt I shall attempt to blip some of them.

I was fed up looking at the sunshine today and decided at 3 that enough was enough and so I set off for home.

2 minutes later my jacket was off and in my rucksack*. 3 minutes later and my jumper was off and also in the rucksack. It was really that warm. First day this year that I've managed that. Wonder when I managed that last year?

*Rucksack comes from the German. Der Rücken is "the back" and "der Sack" shouldn't be too difficult to translate. Feel free to call it a "Backsack" in future but I bet people will look at you funny if you do.

Isn't it weird how English still has some words with umlauts but kept them for one of the vowels that German doesn't have, as in Brontë and Noël Coward and Zoë Ball. There will be a good reason for that. However, I don't have a clue what it is.
