SHOSTYYYYY
Today was a good day.
We had eight hours of rehearsal today. The schedule is pretty much eat, play, eat, play. Literally what else do you need?
I like our conductor. He's pretty positive AND detail-oriented. a good combo. He projected the score onto the screen and at times circled things a la smartboard. I thought that was a cool idea.
The third movement really grew on me. There's a moment (rehearsal 86) that is so incredibly beautiful. He described it as a single ray of sunshine coming in through the stained glass windows of a Russian Orthodox Church. The first movement is also cool.
The flute player is fantastic. As is the oboist. I think this is the most amazing string section I've ever gotten to play with. Brass are disappointing but they got better. The harp harmonics are cool in the third movement.
We explored the fourth street live area a little. I saw a guy making fudge. It was funny. He was just whipping it all around.
I ran into Josh Estes.
A group of us went swimming in our clothes at 10 pm! I like making memories.
It's gonna be a great concert.
