Clever but dysfunctional design

Some years back on a holiday, I spied this tower of colourful cups and we decided to buy them for our kitchen. In one sense surprisingly, they are completely intact with not a crack in sight. That's because, although I liked the design, the position and size of the cup handles were very uncomfortable to use. As a result they are so very rarely used, in truth they have become just a piece of design work for the kitchen.

So yet another example of the need to combine aesthetic design with functionality.
