Unattainable goals.

There was another low spring tide today. I allowed myself to get teased by the Ordnance Survey into believing that there would be a narrow causeway, exposed by the receding water, leading to the beacon at the tip of the Riv skerry (pictured inexpertly).

There wasn't.

My secondary mission was to get far enough along the rocks to reach an area within the next Northerly km square on the map. Without GPS on my phone, mainly because I don't have a phone, it was impossible to determine accurately but I err on the side of caution and doubt that I made it before the seas returned.

I didn't need to resort to my survival kit after all and Gail was delighted to see me home safely. Solely because I'd promised to cook dinner, I'm sure!
