Life through the lens...

By ValC

Walk down memory lane.

Set off to walk down to Prussia Cove, and then along the coast path to Perranuthnoe. A walk we have done many times when my mum and dad lived down here.
However another part of the coast path was closed, and what should have been about 6 miles was nearer 7/8!

The detour took us back inland to the road we had come down.
Then up it, back down it, through some fields, to a farm. Along paths, ankle deep in mud, and eventually back on the coast path.

Had a stop at the Pepper Corn café for refreshments, before heading back home. We passed the bungalow which my mum and dad had built in 1969 for their retirement.
( It has been empty for over a year. The garden is overgrown, and the house wants some TLC. I feel so sad to see it like this.)
In spite of everything it was a lovely walk.
Passed fields of daffodils, and cauliflowers, which are being picked and sent off to market.
Lovely primroses in the hedgerows.
Rabbits bobbing about in the fields.
The lamp post is one my dad bought from Bradford council when they were getting rid of them, and brought it down to Cornwall . Nice to see it is still there.

We were just taking our boots off, when Carol came round with a Cornish cream tea for us.
Home made scones, strawberry jam, and Cornish cream.
Also three bunches of local grown anemones.
We have never been so well looked after!

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Now to put my feet up and have a rest!

Forgot to mention that when we got to Prussia cove we came across a tiny bakery
(miles from anywhere) Bought two almond croissants just out of the oven. Delicious!!
