Gently down the stream

Northington beeches

The world up near Northington today, where I was out on a bliphunt, and I can tell you the sight of this line of beeches brought me screeching to a halt. They're very tall and thin, aren't they, quite unusual and completely gorgeous. I shall have to go back and look at them when they're in leaf.

I guess some of you have snow, oh dear, but round here it really does feel like spring for the moment, with long yellow hazel catkins everywhere, larks and hares, and a woodpecker drilling for grubs. To be honest, the rest of the day has been peaceful and enjoyable, but a bit of an anticlimax after my morning adventure.

Happy weekend xx
