Machine Head Bass

Trying to fix this bass for the music department - horrible intermittent cutting off or fading away. It is a lovely instrument, but it is a left - handed bass and I can't play anything resembling a bass line on it.
Horrible wet day, but only 4 to go - then Holidays! Woohoo!
