The story continues....

And it's all bad news. I went to Nelson Hospital today to get my foot x-rayed, and the worst was confirmed. I have fractured my Weber A lateral malleolus. Sounds impressive - but it really is only a broken bone. The most positive news was that it was a clean break, and the bones were still aligned, which will make healing a lot faster.

I had the option of having a plaster cast put on or a moon boot. We went with the moon boot as I can take it off to have a shower, and if the cast gets wet or tight, I won't be having to travel 2 hours to get it fixed. Sounds ideal to me.
