Backlit frond
Polystichum vestitum is a beautiful and vigorous fern from New Zealand. I noticed the sun lighting these fronds from the back this morning and thought it would make a good Blip, although the backlighting is less obvious than it seemed in reality!
I was given a plant of this species to use in a garden at the Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988 and eventually brought it to Arduaine when I arrived in 1992. Today's plant, now some 4ft high, was a self-sown sporeling from the original.
