Xenophile

Working Class Acupuncture.

X is for ... is today's DDW challenge.
Xenophile: an individual who is attracted to foreign peoples, manners, or cultures.

You could definitely call me a xenophile.
One example is that instead of taking antibiotics for my cold, the choice of red-blooded Americans, I went for an acupuncture treatment.

I love Working Class Acupuncture because it looks as if it exists on another continent, probably Asia. Instead of having a Western-style private room for each patient, everyone is treated in a single large room, reclining in a lounge chair (as in the painting). Instead of $70 or $100 for a treatment, I paid $13 today. Check out the office with the scraggly plant and the skirt on the table that serves as a desk. The files look as though they come from 19th century Shanghai. And then there's Ilse the receptionist. I'm not sure where she comes from, but it's surely not anywhere in North America. She just adds to the atmosphere.
