Couldn't wait to get back from Glasgow and try out my Flockit machine. Until recently the only method to replicate grass was crushed foam or dusting powders and paint. Neither are very good and long term they dry out and crumble away. And it drives me mad having to continually 'reseed' the bare patches.

So on Friday I bought a grass applicator machine. It charges polyester fibres with a 16,000 volt zap and when they're shaken from the applicator into a fine spread of PVA type glue they land vertically and stick.

This is just a test piece but already it shows promise and with a little ingenuity I think I'll be able to create some quite realistic areas. If you enlarge the pic and look at the inset photo you can see the detailed effect.

That's what I've been doing today! Hard work all that gardening y'know.
