The art of conversation
Rain was promised...and gales. But it was a lovely day today.
Mr S's sister and her husband (Fee and Gee) - came to stay, a kind of early birthday celebration for No 1 daughter. Although she couldn't celebrate until she had put in a shift at work !
In the meantime, we went for a long walk with Cee, Gee, Mr S and No3 and her new bike. Along the canal, down to the Dell, back up up past the million pound houses at Spylaw.
We had worked up quite an apetite !
This evening we dined at Dante's in Colinton again. The girls love it because they are allowed a glass of wine with their meal (and feel very grown up !). It's a family run Italian restaurant, and as such, if it's OK with the parents - then it's ok with them.
Growing up in the 70s, I was allowed a Sherry and Lemonade at Christmas, or a little Martini Bianco or Cinzano and lemonade ! Didn't really like the taste of any of them, and it was a good few years before I developed a drunken (student!) taste for Cider and Babycham !
Here are the big two girls in their PJs later. It's difficult to get much in the way of conversation from them at this stage!
