Still in Pondy:-)

I think first India blip taken in colour and then converted. I like the colour one but wondered how it would look in mono...hmm guess which I preferred...

And so, got ticket. At train station three hours early, seventh in queue...so tomorrow I should leave for chennai about 1515, arrive four and a bit hours later then wait until 2240 when the train north leaves and then, in theory, arrive Bhubaneswar 22 hours later...find a room and reach puri at some point on Wednesday, find a room and get to the sun temple at konark...etc etc. Or I just say sod it and stay in pondy awhile, but somewhere else...

Another mundane bimble. It really is a fabulous city. But maybe I've just found a comfy routine of avoiding the heat drinking coffee and writing...but it is heating up...and the south, I seem to remember, is a little easier than the north...

As for pondy, the french empire echoes here, by the accents the majority of Europeans here are french, there's a definite expat feel. The humour is most enjoyable and it's got its oddities aplenty.

Today, two toilet tales...this morning, at the train station, I asked where the toilet was to be told, "I don't know. If you go outside and turn left there are two bushes, that's where we go. You would need to ask about a toilet but I'm sure they'll have one somewhere."
later, in a crowd at a Siva temple an old woman was standing vaguely twisted, wondering if she was OK I noticed the stream of piss exiting below her dress, spraying off her foot. I suppose its sterile was my thought. I would love to see the reaction if similar were to happen in a crowded European church. But here its just part if the cycle. You notice but its nothing that unusual here. You can, walking along the street, suddenly find yourself avoiding yellow arcs...
