Making the nets- 'Follow the Herring' project

The needles are huge- I put in the glasses to add something for scale. The net will become part of an art installation that celebrates the achievements of the women who gutted the herring before packing them in to barrels in the 19th century. The women followed the fishing fleets down the East coast. The exhibition follows the same route starting in Mussleburgh and finshing in Hastings. For more information click here.
