Dripping Birch
I love birch trees - the colour of the bark, the colour of the bear tree in winter, the subtle greens in spring, the aroma of its burning logs. It is hardy and well suited to hereabouts so I hope to be planting some on the croft.
The croft is bear at the moment and hasn't been worked in years. In some ways it is a shame to see once good agricultural land fallen into dereliction, on the other hand it is nice to see nature take hold. But I think most of this landscape was once covered in trees and so it would be nice to try and convert it back to the way it once was.
Today was rainy. Water was pouring off the bark of this tree, but somehow I managed to fail to capture it!
