Destination France

We had to go to Newhaven this morning to pick up a parcel from UPS which they tried to deliver yesterday, and as it's such a lovely day we went early and took Louis with us so that we could have a walk up to the Fort.

When we were at the top we spotted the Newhaven to Dieppe Ferry which was about to set sail, so we walked over the cliff to watch it leaving the port. We had a great view near the Coastguard's tower, but I chose this shot of it in the port as the other boats and the houses really show the size of the ferry - it's huge!

Then what started out as a nice peaceful morning, turned into a bit of a traumatic morning - as we were walking back I slipped and fell in the mud! My jeans and jacket ended up covered in mud and I jolted my arm as I landed. Then as we were walking back to the car, a Dalmation decided to attack Louis! Louis was on his lead and the Dalmation was off her lead and headed straight for him and pinned him down - he was literally underneath her as she wrapped her paws around him and was wrestling with him. Her owner managed to get her off Louis who was crying, and apologised saying that it was out of character. Anyway, fortunately Louis is fine and I think it's now forgotten as he's curled up asleep on the sofa.

We're now going to have a bit of lunch, and then we're going into town as I need to get a key cut for the dog walker, and I want to check out my route to work. Then we're going to meet our friends Alison & Tony for a drink, followed by a nice relaxing night at home.

Have a good weekend!
