Beam me up!

In an ideal world (that doesn't involve Lothian Buses) this little red button would, when pressed, illuminate a bus timetable confirming that I have around 5 minutes to wait for the 9:31pm bus. I would then travel homewards, economically and quickly.

In the real world (which unfortunately does involve Lothian Buses) this little red button, when pressed, illuminates a metal pole where once a bus timetable was mounted but which, if it was there, would confirm that I had waited 40 minutes for the 9:31pm bus not to appear. I would then travel homewards, not so economically but probably more quickly, in a taxi.
