Dorset Coastal path at Kimmeridge Bay
This photograph looks towards the point from where I took a photo on 23rd January. Today's viewpoint is close to the top of the path leading to Clavell Tower.
The coastal path here is a flight of steps which rises 300 or more feet to the tower. Excellent exercise, and this is by no means the Purbeck coast's longest flight of steps.
Again, the red flag is flying: our defence forces are busy.
In the meantime, the relatively low clifftop enclosing the bay has suffered landslip at several locations, especially near the car park seen in the middle distance.
I was wrong about the landslip which had led to the closure of the coastal path. On this visit there was a notice which read "Coastal path closed Access to Clavell Tower only".
I thought I would end up posting a photo which included the tower, but this view turned out to be the better candidate.
