Purbeck: Arne on a misty day
It must have been a warm enough day to warrant a walk at Arne. A close encounter with several Sika deer was one of the rewards.
This photo shows Sika deer grazing on the foreshore near Shipstal Point. At least two of them are males - you can tell this from their antlers.
In the background is Hamworthy, on the northern side of Poole Harbour. Perspective in this photo is foreshortened, the houses are a considerable way beyond the deer.
The digital camera sees more clearly than the human eye.
