Smile!

Speaking as a parent, one of the downsides of social media is the occasional direct but unwanted insight into the lives of one's children. I will, for example, spare you the details of one of Charlie's Facebook posts, no doubt intended for her friends to read, that made me wince and then panic that her grandmother - also a Facebook 'friend' - might see it.

On the other hand, you do get to see photos like this, which I might never have seen otherwise. Indeed, I love the open joy and lack of self-consciousness that I see in so many of the girls' photos that I see online.

But is seems that confidence and enthusiasm is somewhat diminished when I'm the one wielding the camera :-(
