Dream On

On my way to the docks after dropping off the wean with S at her office, I took a little diversion off the north quays and found this weathered jade hoarding with the above directive blazoned on it. It would be nice to see some of the richest moved to more modest quarters (the Royals to a tower block in Camberwell perhaps), but the rest of the graffiti read ...ARM THE POOR. So, who's the first to be lined up against the wall then?

At the docks, it was quieter than yesterday. I drank in the beautiful evening light but couldn't find much except the ship I photographed yesterday, which was still in port unloading its immense cargo. I decided to drive to the other end and saw this little pattern under the prow's beetling cliff-face, near some dust-chocked dockside plants. Looking at it now, I see what attracted me to it; it reminds me of a kind of tapestry, possibly Indian or Oriental, or the wallpaper in the old Bewley's Oriental Café on Westmorland Street.
