Fresh Fish

Zihuatanejo has an awesome array of fresh fish options, you can buy directly from the returning fishermen right on the beach, you can shop a number of different vendors in the fish section of our mercado, or you can catch your own. The best option, as far as I'm concerned, is to have a apartment buddy catch one for you and then fillet it right on premises. That was the situation today. The friend I picked up at the airport the other day, took his 12 foot aluminum boat out into the great big ocean and came back with an 8 foot sailfish. His fishing buddy then cut it up on his glass-topped patio table (shown here) and handed out huge hunks of vela to any and all how wanted some. I was first in line for the freshest fish I can possibly imagine!
