Berhills Farm
The levels of the Marden are pretty high at present, and the water was ferocious at the weir in Berhills Farm. As soon as I crossed the stile into the field that slopes down to the river, I discovered how boggy the ground was, even at the top end. I walked along the path beside the river towards Black Dog for awhile. The light was poor and the sky grey. Apparently there are a pair of swans to be seen there, as well as a little egret, but the only waterfowl in evidence were a group of young mallards paddling in some flood water.
