Older gentleman waiting in Southall, London
City of culture
I love taking cars to Southall in London, it's an area many wouldn't stumble upon but I just love it's vibrancy and Indian atmosphere. There's a huge community of people who are practicing Sikhs and I love the many generations who still share the streets of this area, it feels different but safe.
I was supposed to be on a street photography course tomorrow but it was cancelled due to bad weather except bad weather isn't forecast for tomorrow but hey that's southerners for you ;-). I have to say though that by mistake on our travels we ended up driving through Datchet today and it looked grim, a lovely little town besieged by sand bags at every door, I'm glad the waters seemed to have receded today and hope the good weather forecast helps the clear up for them.
I really love street photography and was hoping to have learnt some new skills this weekend but hopefully I'll be able to do it again in March. Here's my sneaky effort today with the iPhone, I just thought it screamed London to me, multi cultural communities, brick walls, buses and of course traffic everywhere!
