The Oceanic Challenger - the white hulled seismic exploration vessel makes rapid progress towards Leith this afternoon. Her home port is Marseilles and she was orginally made and operated in Norway before changing flags.

The Promenade Challenge today was to navigate the throngs who had come out of hibernation to take the sea air, soak up the February sunshine, quaff countless polystyrene cups of coffee and enjoy being beside the seaside.

Friends from Switzerland called in this morning en route to Aberdeen. This afternoon F's parents headed off to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary in the city leaving us in sole charge of Fyfe for a night and a day : the years roll away!
