Porty People and Places
One of the iconic Portobello Beach groyne "lollypops" reflected in the wet sand as the tide ebbed this morning. The sea was calm enough for the Saturday rowers to take to the waves. However, the flotilla of larger ships riding out the storm in Musselburgh Bay had grown overnight to include two Fisheries Protection craft. Across the Forth fresh snow was visible on the Ochils and the distant Grampians.
The dreadful weather in southern and western Britain continues to make life very difficult. However, our little grandson and his parents made it safely to Scotland by train today and it is lovely to have them staying here for a while.
