One among many
A perfect Spring day ... except it's a bit early to be calling it Spring. A wealth of crocus and other flowers in the garden, great to have the time to enjoy them. See more here.
Crocus vernus has a very wide distribution across Europe. There are many, quite different forms to be found. This one hails from the Balkans, soft lilac in colour with subtly darker tips to the petals and a silvery wash on the outside, both features not easily seen in the bright sunshine. It's a good doer, witness the crowded potful! It will grow quite happily in the open garden too.
