Sunny Sunday
It was great to have two dry and sunny days this weekend. It was even pretty mild reaching 10°C by lunchtime. Positively balmy. My blip today was inspired by the sun in the churchyard on my way home from church at 10.30 this morning. I couldn't resist it. It gave me an emotional glimpse of the Spring to come with all the birds singing and the flowers beginning to bud and really lifted my spirits (or maybe it was the worship that did that!)
I then headed over to the new office for an hour. Some of my colleagues were in too. We were given our swipe cards; unpacked our boxes; set out our desks; filled the filing shelves and drawers; tested our computers; worked out how the wireless phone headsets work; swivelled on our new chairs ( of course); and wondered where all the bins were (maybe 'paperless' literally means no more wastepaper baskets!). As we are on the top floor at was very bright and sunny and we were all in a good mood. It was also great to see some other colleagues from other buildings previously who we will now be sitting with.
I've just made a lemon and lime cake to take in to the office tomorrow. I am not stupid. I know that bribery with cake can often smooth the way for good working relations!
I saw a rubbish film today called 'Cuban Fury'. I suggest you don't waste your money going to see this but watch it when it comes on television. It was quite funny but that was its only saving grace. I had the car washed on the way home by the Polish lads for a fiver in honour of the dry weather. I am under no illusions that this will, of course, herald a new deluge...
My step mum and I are planning a trip to Crufts again this year. I think we will go on the 'Terriers and hounds' day as I love the Airedales and Afghans and she is fond of Norfolks. Luckily it falls within a week I have already booked off work and so that suits me just fine.
I'm having another early night tonight. I'm actually looking forward to going into the office tomorrow. I think it will feel like the first day of the school term and that people will be in high spirits. Goodness knows how long that will last though....
