Snowdrops
DDWs February 2014 Alphabet Challenge - Ordinary or opulent opal flowers
Bobzbitz59 Technique Challenge - Depth of Field
I'm learning a lot by looking at other people's pictures - and a few weeks ago I was struck by someone's picture of snowdrops with a church in the background. The snowdrops round here have just started to open. Compared to the starkness of winter, snowdrops, which can be a very ordinary flower, can also seem like a sudden burst of opulence in the gardens.
Unfortunately, the grounds for our church aren't big enough to enable getting any substantial part of the building in the background - but it was still worth it. This one was taken right by the door of the church, looking towards the church gateway, the black is part of the black arch.
