Pyramid
We were enjoying highlights from the Westminster Dog Show the other night (did you know a Cardigan Welsh Corgi won the Herding Group? Woot!) and saw several breeds that were quite unfamiliar and fascinating, including a 3,000-year-old Aztec breed (the Xoloitzcuintle, also known as a Xolo or Mexican Hairless Dog) which is intriguingly similar to hairless dogs from Egypt (e.g. the Pharaoh Hound). This information led us to discuss other similarities between Ancient Egyptian & Aztec cultures, namely the pyramid, from which we drew the non-scientific conclusion that the ancient peoples were likely trading partners.
When we went for a quick walk with the dogs today (watch out for icy sidewalks!), I found this pyramid-shaped shadow and was reminded of our conversation. And I'm always glad to have another photo for my tree-shadows-on-houses collection.
